Definition of the word expo

The term "expo" is an abbreviated version of the word "exposition," which originally referred to an event or exhibition showcasing the works of artists and craftsmen during the Renaissance era. In the late 19th century, the concept of expositions evolved to incorporate industrial and commercial exhibits, leading to what we now know as trade fairs and expositions. The first modern world's fair, officially titled the Exposition Universelle, was held in Paris in 1855. The term "expo" was coined shortly after, derived from the French word "exposition," to refer to these large-scale international events designed to showcase innovation, commerce, and culture.
