Definition of the word locker room

The term "locker room" originally referred to a specific area within a sports facility where athletes could store their personal belongings, such as clothing, shoes, and equipment, in individual lockers. The first recorded use of the term in English language literature dates back to 1899, when it appeared in the Excelsior Community Society's minutes from the Central High School in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
