Definition of the word paradise

The word "paradise" originated from the ancient Persian word "pairidaeza", which referred to a walled garden or park. This term was used in the Avesta, the sacred text of Zoroastrianism, to describe the Garden of Eden and the ultimate goal of human existence. The Greek historian Ctesias (c. 400 BCE) translated "pairidaeza" into Greek as "paradeisos", and this term was later adopted into Latin as "paradisus". In Christian literature, particularly in the Book of Revelation, "paradise" referred to a heavenly realm or state of being, often described as a walled and guarded garden. Throughout history, the concept of paradise has evolved to encompass various meanings, including a beautiful and idyllic place, a state of bliss, or a goal to strive for.
