Definition of the word super over

The term "super over" is derived from the concept of a "tiebreaker," where an additional contest is played to decide the winner in a tied situation. In cricket, a super over consists of a six-ball over by both teams, with the batting and fielding restrictions being the same as in the main innings. The team that scores more runs in the super over wins the match. If both teams score the same number of runs in the super over, then the match is declared a tie once again, but the team that scored more runs in the first innings or the one with a higher number of wickets at the end of the innings before the super over is declared the winner.
