Definition of the word militarization

The word "militarization" originally appeared during the 18th century, in the context of mobilizing resources and personnel for military purposes. The term derived from the Latin words miles and arare, meaning "soldier" and "prepare," respectively. Initially, militarization referred to the process of developing a country's military capabilities, particularly in terms of training and arming soldiers.
