वाक्यों में समानांतर संरचना

1. संकल्पना

समानांतर संरचना (parallel structure) एक वाक्य है जिसमें समान व्याकरणिक संरचना वाले दो या दो से अधिक तत्व या खंड होते हैं।

उदाहरण के लिए:

• My little brother like swimming, running and playing basketball.

(मेरे छोटे भाई को तैरना, दौड़ना और बास्केटबॉल खेलना पसंद है।)

2. विशेषताएँ

क्रियाविशेषण उपवाक्यों की तरह, आप अंग्रेजी में हर जगह समानांतर संरचनाओं का सामना कर सकते हैं, परीक्षणों से लेकर, रोजमर्रा के संचार से लेकर गीतों और शैक्षणिक पाठों तक। जब किसी शब्द श्रृंखला में 2 या अधिक शब्द, वाक्यांश या उपवाक्य होते हैं, तो उस शब्द श्रृंखला के प्रत्येक घटक की व्याकरणिक संरचना समान होती है, जो अंग्रेजी में समानांतर संरचना का संकेत है।

उदाहरण के लिए:

• Autumn is famous for turning leaves, cooling temperatures, and darkening nights.

जिसमें turning leaves, cooling temperatures, and darkening nights सभी का उपयोग V-ing + Noun के रूप में किया जाता है।

3. समानांतर संरचना

- Gerund/V-ing

Mary likes hiking, swimming, and bicycling.

मैरी को लंबी पैदल यात्रा, तैराकी और साइकिल चलाना पसंद है

-  Infinitive

Mary likes to hike, to swim, and to ride a bicycle. Or Mary likes to hike, swim, and ride a bicycle.

मैरी को लंबी पैदल यात्रा, तैराकी और साइकिल चलाना पसंद है। या मैरी को लंबी पैदल यात्रा, तैराकी और साइकिल चलाना पसंद है

-  Verb

The teacher said that he was a poor student because he waited until the last minute to study for the exam, completed his lab problems in a careless manner, and lacked motivation.

- Adjective

- Noun/ Noun phrase

On Saturdays they may visit the open-air market, the docks, or the park.

- Clause

The coach told the players that they should get a lot of sleep, that they should not eat too much, and that they should do some warm-up exercises before the game.

• It's an expensive but useful book.

• You can pay either by cash or by credit card.

• We have just found out an inexpensive yet effective solution to our problem.

• She's not only a painter but also a writer.

ध्यान: अंग्रेजी में समानांतर संरचना वाले वाक्य में शब्द/वाक्यांश सूचीबद्ध अर्थ को व्यक्त करने के लिए एक ही प्रकार के होने चाहिए। - एकल शब्दों के लिए: Can he read and write? → वही इनफिनिटिव → गलत: Can he read and wrote? I enjoy running and swimming. → वही एक क्रिया है जोडें -ing He editted the letter quickly and correctly. → यह भी एक क्रिया-विशेषण है The room is neither spacious nor bright. → यह भी एक विशेषण है - वाक्यांशों या उपवाक्यों के लिए: He remembered what he did and why he did it। → गलत: He remembered what to do and why he did it. He suggested going out and having dinner. → गलत: He suggested going out and have dinner। We were told to either work early or come home late. I save money either to buy a new house or (to) purchase a new car। I save money to buy either a new house or a new car.
